Learn About B.O.H.R.
B.O.H.R. (Baldwin Organization of Homeschool Robotics) is a recently formed Eastern Shore robotics team comprised of 6th-12th grade homeschool students. B.O.H.R. competes in the annual Jubilee BEST robotics competition held each fall. This year, our “Game Day” is October 24th at the Mitchell Center on the campus of University of South Alabama.
The competition requires each team to form a corporation and produce a robot in six weeks. The corporation may have up to six divisions, and the robot must meet BEST guidelines and specifications.
After a strong 11th place finish in our rookie year, B.O.H.R. is looking forward to having a solid season this year.
Robot – engineers a robot to meet competition specifications.
Notebook – enlists technical writing to document the design and construction of our robot.
Presentation/ Marketing – “sells” our robot to a panel of judges.
Display – fabricates a trade show-style booth to promote our company and robot to the public.
Spirit – cheers and rallies the team on “Game Day”, fashions team spirit items such as noisemakers, clappers, and megaphones, and acquires giveaways to advertise our corporation.
